SEVERAL DISCOVERIES IN THE FIELD OF PROSTAGLANDINS have added substantially to our knowledge of platelet-vessel wall interactions and opened up exciting new therapeutic possibilities. This review will discuss mainly the way in which some of these compounds interact to regulate platelet aggregability in physiological and pathological conditions. The biological properties of prostacyclin and the way in which these might explain its therapeutic potential will be discussed.
